Linda Annala

Susanna Bairoh is a PhD candidate in Management and Organization at Hanken. Her doctoral research focuses on understanding the gender gap in technology and how the situation could be improved. Susanna has 20+ years of experience in conducting various kinds of research projects and currently works as Research Manager at Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion in technology as well as improving tech workplaces. Susanna holds a Master of Social Science degree from University of Helsinki.

Sanne Bor holds a PhD in Management and Organization. Her work focuses on collaboration among organizations, particularly in situations where collaboration is essential to solve the big challenges we meet in today's world. She works on helping organizations to collaborate better, with the aim to find fairer, wiser and better solutions to these big societal challenges. At Hanken School of Economics she works on the STN-funded CORE project, where she helps finding tools for collaborative development of solutions to environmental challenges. At LUT she works on the STN-funded PackageHeroes project, where she focuses on finding ways for overcoming barriers to stimulate collaboration between organizations to enhance the transition from plastic to non-plastic package solutions. Her research interests also include meta-organizations, organizations of organizations, and developing theory to understand this type of organization better. Sanne is also interested in topics related to self-steering and collective decision-making more generally. Sanne has published in Management Inquiry and Administrative Science. Currently, she serves as co-chair of the Special Interest Group on Inter-Organizational Collaboration at the British Academy of Management.

Maria Ehrnström-Fuentes holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility. Her work is currently focused on the politics and organization of sustainable food and alternative food networks. Her research interests also include the organizational practices and governance of corporate-community relations in territories marked by extractive economic operations, including processes of legitimation and contestation, and the impacts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices on community self-organisation. Maria has published in journals such as Geoforum, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Journal of Rural Studies. 

Martin Fougère is an Associate Professor in Management and Politics at Hanken in Helsinki. He is the current chair of CCR's board. His current research interests include corporate responsibility, critical management studies, critical marketing, discourse theory, management ideology, responsible management education, and social innovation. He has published in international journals such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Macromarketing, Management Learning, Organization, and Scandinavian Journal of Management. He has co-authored the book Marketing Discourse: A critical perspective and been an associate editor of Scandinavian Journal of Management since 2012.

Meri-Maaria Friig is a doctoral student in Marketing at Hanken.

David Grant, Professor of Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility at Hanken. Professor Grant is also Professor of Logistics at Hull University Business School (HUBS) and was Director of the Logistics Institute (2009-12) and Associate Dean Business Engagement (2013-14). Professor Grant has an extensive international network in Europe and North America and is a regular contributor to academic and industry conferences as both chair and speaker, the most recent being the LOGY Conference, Helsinki, February 2018. His co-authored book Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Management is now in its 2nd edition. His research interests include logistics supply chain management practices and strategies; customer service and satisfaction; services marketing and service quality; retail logistics; reverse, closed-loop and sustainable logistics; logistics and supply chain relationships; logistics in SMEs; and integration of logistics and marketing

Árni Halldórsson is Professor in Supply Chain Management at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. He is also affiliated with Hanken School of Economics, Finland, within Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility. His research relates to sustainable supply, service supply chains, inter-organisational relationships and energy efficiency in logistics.

Russell Harpring is a PhD student at Hanken School of Economics majoring in Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility. His research focus is on cash-based interventions in humanitarian settings, assessing optimal combinations of cash, vouchers and in-kind with respect to “value for money” metrics.  He received his M.Eng. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Louisville, with a thesis on the use of simulation techniques in the public sector to improve efficiency. He has worked in the field with various humanitarian NGO operations in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and in the United States in the area of right to education and livelihood for vulnerable populations, especially women and children. This was followed by an internship with an NGO working with the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and then participation in the 57th Commission on the Status of Women in New York. Most recently, he worked with the UNHCR Division of Emergency, Security, and Supply in the field procurement unit in Budapest, Hungary, where he supported field operations in all procurement related activities from the planning phase to the end of the contract management phase.

Jeff Hearn is Professor Emeritus, Management and Organisation, Hanken, Finland; and Research Director of the GODESS (Gender, Organisation, Diversity, Equality, Social Sustainability in Transnational Times) Institute, based at Hanken. He is: Fellow of Academy of Social Sciences (UK); honorary doctor, Social Sciences, Lund University, Sweden; Professor Extraordinarius (honorary), University of South Africa. He has been involved long-term in research and policy development around gender and diversity in work, organisations, management, policy, ICTs, and transnational processes, with many national, Nordic, European and North-South research projects. He is co-managing editor of Routledge Advances in Feminist Studies and Intersectionality book series (30+ books), and co-editor, associate editor or board member of numerous journals. He has supervised 17 completed PhDs at Hanken (total c.47), and examined 85+ PhDs in 12 countries. He has authored or edited over 50 books and journal special issues, and published over 145 articles in refereed international journals, including British Journal of Management; Culture & Organization; Equality, Diversity & Inclusion; Gender, Work & Organization; Human Relations; International Studies of Management and Organization; Journal of Business Ethics; Journal of Marketing Management; Leadership; Organization; Organization Studies.

Jonna Heliskoski is a PhD student in Marketing at Hanken School of Economics. Her PhD research is titled: “Impact Ecosystems – Modelling, Evaluating, and Facilitating Targeted Social Impact”. Combining research from various research domains addressing service systems and social impact, her research aims to provide a novel framework for modelling, creating, and evaluating social impact. Jonna has presented six conference papers and is currently finalizing her dissertation.

Frank den Hond is the Ehrnrooth Professor in Management and Organisation at Hanken (Helsinki, Finland) and past Editor of Organization Studies. His research interests are at the intersection of business in society, institutional organization theory, and social movement studies, and he recently developed interests in business ethics and in partial organization theory. He has published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Business & Society, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Corporate Citizenship, Journal of Management Studies, and Organization Studies, as well as two edited books, three special issues of academic journals (and one in the making), and numerous book chapters. Frank den Hond served the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) as a board member and he was the main organizer of the 2008 EGOS Colloquium. He currently teaches business ethics and research methods at MSc and PhD levels.

Liisa Husu is Professor of Gender Studies, School of Humanities, Education and Social Science (HumES) at Örebro University and affiliated researcher at Hanken School of Economics. She is Co-Director of GEXcel International Collegium for Advanced Transdisciplinary Gender Studies, a three-university (Karlstad – Linköping – Örebro universities) research platform of advanced gender research; and the leader of Centre for Feminist Social Studies (CFS) at Örebro University. Liisa Husu's re­­search in­­te­­rests fo­­cus on gen­­der in scien­­ce, academia and knowledge production; espe­­­­­­cially on gen­­der dyna­­mics and in­­equa­­li­­ties in scien­­tific careers, organisations and scien­­ce po­­licy.

Tiina Jääskeläinen holds a Master´s degree in Human Geography and she is currently working on her doctoral thesis on confrontations between local communities´ ways of life and development strategies that have their foundation on extraction of natural resources. She is particularly interested in Indigenous Peoples´ rights, decolonizing struggles and recognition for livelihood-based forms of life. She studies conflicts as conflicts between onto-epistemological worlds. She has experience in environmental governance and she has published in Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Policy and Governance, and, Biodiversity and Conservation.

Hlekiwe Kachali is a practitioner and researcher in system dynamics of disaster resilience and recovery and humanitarian logistics. Hlekiwe’s interests in system dynamics and resilience led to her working in the areas of global flows, conflict dynamics, mine action, emergency management, disaster risk reduction and information management in emergencies.

Neema Komba

Mikaela Krohn (MSc Econ) is a doctoral student at department of Management and Organization expecting to defend her thesis soon. Her research focuses on technology and people in organizations. In her doctoral thesis she focuses on the use of new media and visual communication in organizations. Currently she is shifting her focus towards understanding how the upstream effects on development of AI and machine learning solutions affects strategic decision making and organizing of work, both which are questions related to ethical leadership in a algorithmic society.  

Jonna Louvrier holds a Ph.D from Hanken, the department of Management and Organization. From 2014 to 2016 she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, the Clayman Institute for Gender Research. She has also worked as a researcher at Hanken, Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, France, and the Center for Creative Leadership.

Anna Maaranen is a PhD candidate in Management and Organisation. Her research focuses on social media as an arena for tackling societal issues and examines the growing impact of social media phenomena on the world of work and management. Her key focus is on the debate on gender equality online and offline.

Petri Mäntysaari is Professor in Commercial Law at Hanken. His research interests include Corporate Governance Law, Electricity Trade Law, EU Law, and Commercial Law Theory. Esp. in relation to Responsible Organising he has published journal articles on topics such as corporate governance theory that fosters sustainability, corporate law as a theory that focuses on sustainable societal outcomes, and electricity trade law with a focus on renewable sources. He has also published 11 single authored books.

Charlotta Niemistö is Project Leader at Hanken, research project Social and Economic Sustainability of Future Working Life (WeAll), financed by the Strategic Research Council at the Academy of Finland; and Director of the GODESS Institute (Gender, Organisation, Diversity, Equality and Social Sustainability in Transnational times), an international collaboration between Jyväskylä University Business School, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sobey School of Business at St. Mary’s University and the GLASS Research Centre at the University of Newcastle, Australia. She received her PhD. from Hanken, Dept of Management and Organisation in 2012. Her research has addressed work/family reconciliation, boundaries between work and non-work, gender relations, intersectionality, organisational well-being, changes in national family policies and generational differences. She is an associate editor for the journal Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management.

Eija Meriläinen is a doctoral student in Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility at Hanken. She studies disaster governance, striving to understand the roles and power of various organizations and institutions in responding to, recovering from and preparing for disasters. Her dissertation focuses on how the responsibility and ability of ‘communities’ is framed within the resilience discourse, particularly by non-governmental organizations whose influence within disaster governance is growing. The research draws mostly from the fields of disaster studies and human geography, but is interdisciplinary in nature. Theoretical and conceptual frameworks such as The Right to City and social contract thinking have been useful in approaching the phenomenon critically.

Visa Penttilä has started as a part-time project researcher in the PAROL project in Hanken. Visa is a PhD student from Aalto University School of Business, Department of Management Studies. His research has revolved around communication and CSR in strategic and societal contexts.

Pia Polsa is Associate Professor of Marketing at the Hanken in Helsinki, and has previously worked for Fudan University, Nankai University and Hult International Business School in Shanghai. Her current research interests are poverty alleviation, service and relationship marketing at non-profit settings like health care in developing countries, international marketing channels, and cross-cultural methodology. Her research includes retailing and consumer behaviour in China and sustainable poverty alleviating business models in India. She has published in journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Services Marketing, Supply Chain Management; International Journal, among others. Her work has also appeared in practitioner oriented journals like Talouselämä.

Félicia Saïah is a PhD candidate at Hanken School of Economics, focusing her research in Humanitarian Supply Chain Management. After graduating from a Master of Science at Kedge University in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, she joined the International NGO Médecins sans Frontières as a Supply Chain Manager, where she had assignments in Geneva, but also missions in Uganda and Kyrgyzstan. She then directed the Single Data Entry Project within MSF, resulting in the upcoming implementation of a barcoding solution for all MSF projects.

Maria Sandberg is a PhD candidate in marketing at Hanken as well as a student in sociology at University of Helsinki. Her research interests include sustainable production-consumption systems, sufficiency and degrowth, and environmental sustainability. Her dissertation analyzes advances to reduce consumption levels in high-consuming societies. She has published in Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Social Responsibility Journal. She is currently a board member of CCR.

Nikodemus Solitander acts as the director of Centre for Corporate Responsibility (CCR), a joint research institute between Hanken and University of Helsinki. He also works as postdoctoral researcher and holds a PhD degree in Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility at Hanken. His research interests include CSR in the supply chain; human rights and business, business ethics, the organization of transnational justice networks, responsible management education and pedagogy for sustainable development. He is also one of the founders of the CR3+ conference. He has published in international journals such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Decision, and Management Learning.

Greta Steenvoorden is a PhD student at Hanken School of Economics.  Her research focuses on the space for labor voice within current Corporate Responsibility (CR) mechanisms and on if and how CR mechanisms are able to drive sustainable social change within Global Production Networks (GPNs). She has also conducted research on the needs and preparedness of corporations to channel funding for NGOs’ corporate responsibility projects (Kepa, 2017) and on private sector as a development actor within the Finnish development policy (Unicef Finland, 2016-17). In 2019 Steenvoorden coordinated the EurOMA 2019 conference in Helsinki with the theme 'Operations Adding Value to Society (joint project between Hanken School of Economics, Aalto School of Business and the HUMLOG Institute, 2019).

Caroline Sundgren

Karl-Erik Sveiby, Econ Dr., Professor Emeritus - Dept of Management and Organisation, CCR was appointed Professor in Knowledge Management at Hanken in 2001 and Emeritus in 2013. Previous appointments include honorary professorships at Queensland University of Technology, Griffith university, Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Australia and Hongkong Polytechnic University. He is on the editorial board of Journal of Intellectual Capital and has been on Management Decision, among others. He has published a.o. in journals such as Journal of Knowledge Management, Leadership, Sustainable Development and written 13 books, among them The New Organizational Wealth Berret-Koehler 1997; the co-edited Challenging the Innovation Paradigm Routledge 2012, and; seminal works during the early ”Nordic KM movement” in the 1980’s. The first half of his working life was as manager, among others of a co-owned publishing house, which became Sweden´s largest in financial and trade press.

Inkeri Tanhua is a PhD candidate in Management and Organization at Hanken. In her dissertation, she examines the mechanisms that cause occupational gender segregation, particularly in the context of vocational education. Previously, Tanhua has worked as a gender equality and diversity consultant and conducted several reports about gender equality and diversity. Her earlier educational qualifications include M.S.Sc. with a major in gender studies from Linköping University and M.Sc. (Econ.) from Turku School of Economics. Inkeri’s research interests include gender equality and diversity at work, non-binary gender, gender and technology, intersectionality, and intersection of gender and migration at work.

Yewondwossen Tesfaye is a PhD Candidate at Hanken School of Economics, Finland. Previously, he studied sociology and rural development and conducted consulting work for over 9 years in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector in Ethiopia. His current research areas include governmentality, social and political philosophy, political economy and policy, meaning and identity construction, subjectivity and power dynamics in the making of business and development relations.

Janne Tienari is Professor of Management and Organization at Hanken, Finland. His research and teaching interests include gender and diversity, strategy work, managing multinational corporations, mergers and acquisitions, branding and media, and changing academia from a critical perspective. His latest passion is to understand management, new generations, and the future. Tienari’s work has been published in leading organization and management studies journals such as Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Organization, Human Relations, and Journal of Management Studies.

Virva Tuomala

Annamari Tuori works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Dept of Management and organisation. She defended her thesis “Doing Intersectional Identity Work: Social Categories, Inequalities and Silences” in 2014. The thesis was elected as one of the top ten theses in EDAMBA’s 2016 doctoral thesis competition. Currently she works in a research project, Social and Economic Sustainability of Future Working Life (WeAll), funded by the Strategic Research Council, Academy of Finland. Her research interests include work-related identities, inequalities, intersectionality and silence in organizations. She has published in the journals of Creativity and Innovation Management, Elore and Yritysetiikka, and acts as an associate editor in Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management.

Mikko Vesa (PhD Econ) is an Assistant Professor at Hanken School of Economics. His research focuses on gamification, the late-modern ludic corporation and qualitative research methods with a focus on ethnography. His research has been published e.g. in Organization Studies, Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Business Research.  The special issue on “Gamification – Concepts Consequences, and Critiques” that he co-edited is shortly forthcoming in the Journal of Management Inquiry. He is currently editing “Organizational Gamification: Theories and Practices of Ludified Work in Late Modernity” for Routledge due early 2020.

Fredrik Weibull is an affiliated researcher and lecturer at Hanken. His academic work is focused on understanding the modern human subject at work. This is achieved through historical-theoretical and cultural-historical approaches. He holds degrees Lancaster University’s (UK) department of Organization, Work & Technology (BA, research MA level). He has previously worked at Warwick University’s Business School, Cass Business School and Copenhagen Business School. He researches, lectures and supervises on Human Resource Management, Organization Theory, Classical sociology, the relation between work and warfare, and the rise and cultic appeal of the contemporary entrepreneurial subject. At CCR and Responsible Organising he conducts primary research under the banner of the research project 'The Cult[ure] of Entrepreneurship'.

Kristoffer Wilén is a Ph.D. student at Hanken School of Economics within the fields of political ecology and socio-ecological economics. His research interests include the political dimensions of human-environmental relations, the post-political climate and neoliberazation of environmental debates, subjectification and power within consumption and work and the commodification and economization of everything in market(ing) society - and some of the alternatives to this: degrowth, commons, solidarity economy, environmental justice.

Qifeng Yan is a PhD student at Hanken School of Economics. He graduated from Columbia University with a Master's degree in climate science and has a background in environmental studies as well as natural disaster management. During his graduate study, he worked with Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre to improve a forecast-based financing model that facilitates humanitarian relief efforts. He has also worked with Free University of Berlin to conduct a case study on Hurricane Katrina.

Anna Zhuravleva is a PhD candidate at Hanken School of Economics. Anna's research interests include closed-loop and reverse supply chain solutions, humanitarian supply chain and social responsibility. Previously, Anna was a leader of the global association 180 Degrees Consulting in Helsinki which connects students with local NGOs through various consulting projects. Under her leadership, students helped Finnish NGOs in identifying donor management and marketing strategies as well as in managing the supply chain of second-hand charity stores.
