The aim of the project is to develop novel collaborative models for entrepreneurs in agricultural production and wild game hunting. By integrating into these models insight from customer logics within modern clean-eat customer segments, new sustainable business opportunities can be found to revitalize rural livelihood.
In a sustainable society, urban customers who appreciate clean and locally produced food are an important and growing segment. However, these consumers lack channels to agricultural producers. Simultaneously many small and middle-sized producers are in crisis and their existence in its current form is threatened in the pressure of global food giants: The customer logic and the producer logic are not aligned.
By three case studies in agricultural production and wild game hunting, the intention of the project is to introduce replicable and adjustable sustainable business models with clearly explicated earning logics that also producers in other regions can apply to similar situations.
The project is implemented in collaboration with Novia School of Applied Sciences (Research director for bioeconomy, Dr. Marianne Fred), the Finnish Wildlife Agency, the University of Turku, the Resource center Hald, Eldrimner (Sweden), and the University of Maastricht (The Netherlands).
