At the end of 2024, a well-being survey was conducted among bachelor and master students at Hanken. The results regarding studies and study pace are excellent, while slightly more students than before experience a feeling of loneliness.

The business incubator Hanken Business Lab at Hanken School of Economics has been granted €750,000 by the Louise and Göran Ehrnrooth Foundation for the next five years. Helsinki Design Week is the largest design and architecture festival in the Nordic countries and takes place 8-17.9.2023. The programme offers over 100 events and for the first time Hanken's main building is also part of the festival.

A record number of almost 150 people applied to the 2023 Hanken mentorship programme. Mentor Yrsa Landsdorff and mentee Wilma Leskinen are two of them. The mentorship programme has given Landsdorff valuable insights about the younger generation, and Leskinen has successfully achieved the goal she set herself at the start of the year.

For the first time in 10 years, a Finn brings home an individual men's medal in the World Orienteering Championships. Olli Ojanaho, who studies Management and Organisation at Hanken, won the bronze medal in long-distance orienteering in Switzerland in July 2023.

The European Commission has announced that ENGAGE.EU is to receive a follow-up grant to the amount of € 14.4 million for further elaborating the collaboration among nine European universities. The INCREDIT project, where Hanken plays a vital role, has been selected in the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) HEI Initiative. The HEI Initiative helps higher education institutions build the capacity to teach innovation and entrepreneurship.

Vaasa city library is moving to a new library system. The library system is used for managing all library materials, loans, and customer data. Due to the change, all library locations will be closed between May 22 and June 6, 2023. During this period, the online library catalogue will also be unavailable.

The HUMLOG Institute at Hanken School of Economics is the co-ordinator of the Horizon 2020 research project Health Emergency Response in Interconnected Systems (HERoS) in connection to the present corona virus (COVID-19) outbreak. Hankens magisterutbildning har placerat sig på plats 65 i Financial Times årliga Masters in Management-ranking. Det här är en förbättring med 6 placeringar jämfört med ifjol. Dessutom har antalet rankade universitet i år utökats från 95 till 100.

Hanken's Rector Karen Spens stated in her speech that internationalisation and continuous learning are at the core of the activities at Hanken in the years to come. Chairman of the board Björn Wahlroos was awarded Hanken's medal of gold.

The results of the admission for 2018 to Hanken are now in and a total of 456 students will begin their studies at Hanken in autumn.

Hanken klarar sig mycket bra i en enkät som utförts bland utbytesstudenter som vistats här under våren 2018. Samtliga 54 studenter som besvarade enkäten skulle rekommendera Hanken som utbytesuniversitet, vilket är ett exceptionellt fint resultat.

Hanken received a total of 1254 applications (2017: 1114) within the deadline for the integrated BSc and MSc programme in Vaasa and Helsinki this year. The application period ended on 28 March 2018.

The Governing Board of Helsinki Graduate School of Economics has selected Professor Otto Toivanen from Aalto University to be Academic Director and Professor Hannu Vartiainen from the University of Helsinki to be Academic Deputy Director.

The Partner Programme at Hanken got yet another member as JAM Advisors joined the group of Branding Partners. Hanken now has a total of 16 partner corporations to strengthen the connection between Hanken and the corporate world.

At CERS, we have a light, white corner room with big windows that open to the neighbouring playschool’s yard. This fall a visiting researcher Stephane Thion from Toulouse, France, has been working in the corner room.

The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS ended six months ago and the result of the state co-financing has now been published. Hanken is the fourth largest recipient with an amount of 13 755 670 euro.

Medelinsamlingskampanjen HANKEN RETURNS avslutades för snart sex månader sedan. Nu står det klart att Hanken är den fjärde största mottagaren av statens medfinansiering med ett belopp på 13 755 670 euro.

Reverse Shots is a pictorial project by Mexican artist Jose Antonio Ochoa exhibited at Hanken in Helsinki for a week beginning on 25 September. Ochoa will be present at the exhibition on 28 September at 12-14 to meet with students and staff.

The registration for Hanken Open University courses started on 9 August and attracted great interest. The Fast track-study places were quickly filled. The Fast track gives admittance to Hanken based on good study results, without an entrance test.
