2026 Bothnia Accounting & Auditing Seminar
2026 BACC Seminar in Umeå, Sweden
It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 2026 BACC Seminar in Umeå, Sweden. The seminar, organized for the third time, is a collaboration between the business schools in the Bothnia region. We welcome submissions from Faculty and PhD Students addressing all aspects of financial accounting and/or auditing. Thanks to a generous grant by the Handelsbanken research foundations (Jan Wallander och Tom Hedelius stiftelse, Tore Browaldhs stiftelse), there is no conference fee.
The programme (TBA) will include research presentations and discussions, a keynote speech, and networking.
Full papers accepted for presentation will have assigned discussants. A limited number of papers or research proposals by PhD students will also be accepted for presentation at a designated PhD session. To encourage PhD students to partake in the conference, BACC intend to reimburse travel and hotel costs for PhD students from the Nordic countries presenting at the PhD session (reimbursement information will be detailed later).
The programme will start in the morning of Monday, June 15th, and finish in the afternoon of Tuesday, June 16th. There will be a Conference dinner in the evening on Monday, June 15th.
Submissions and registration
Faculty are expected to submit full papers, whereas PhD Students have the option to submit either full papers or a research proposal. Please indicate in your submission if you are a PhD student.
All submitted full papers will undergo blind peer review for significance, fit, and quality. Proposals should contain sufficient description of idea, research objective, intended contribution, and research design.
Full papers and PhD student proposals should be submitted as an attachment to bacc.usbe@umu.se , no later than March 15th, 2026. Early submissions are encouraged. Decisions will be sent out in the beginning of April after which registration will be possible.
