Below you will find step-by-step instructions on how to apply in the rolling admission round to Master’s degree studies in English.

Important dates

  • Application opens – 8.12.2025 at 8:00 PM (UTC+2)
  • Application closes – 15.4.2026 at 3:00 PM (UTC+3) (or earlier if the admission quotas have been filled)
  • Attachment deadline – uploaded simultaneously with application
  • Publication of results – within 4 weeks of submitting the application (exception: 22.12.2025-6.1.2026 applications will not be processed due to holiday season which prolongs the publication of results)
  • Deadline to accept your admission offer – 7 days after receiving the admission offer at 3:00 PM (UTC+2 until 29 March 2026, UTC+3 from 30 March 2026 forward)

How to apply

1. Familiarize yourself with the requirements

  • Read all of the information on the the admission pages and make sure that you fulfill the admission requirements.
  • You can apply to a maximum of 2 Master’s degree programmes at Hanken within the rolling admission round.
  • Note that you should only apply to the study location (Helsinki or Vaasa) and study programme that you are ready to attend as you cannot change location or programme internally after accepting your admission offer.

2. Prepare for applying

  • International applicants: check that you have sufficient funds to immigrate and live in Finland. If you are a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country, you will also be required to pay an application fee and  tuition fees. Without the sufficient funds for both living costs and tuition fees, you will not be able to obtain a residence permit in Finland.
  • Take all tests (language and/or GMAT/GRE-tests) well before you apply and remember to request the test organisation to share the result with Hanken since the official results must be accessable to Hanken when you submit the application.
  • Start collecting the required attachments.

3. Submit your application  

  • Complete the application in the national application portal Studyinfo.fi as early as possible after the application period has started and upload all required attachments. The application period is 8 December 2025 at 8:00 PM (UTC+2)–15 April 2026 at 15:00 PM (UTC+3), but the round can close earlier if the admission quotas have already been filled.
  • After you have submitted your application, pay the application fee, if applicable.
  • The application form is designed in English, so make sure that your Studyinfo.fi page is in English as well before you start filling out the form.
  • Make sure that you answer each question accurately. Your answers will determine which attachments the form request of you and without the correct attachments, your application will not be processed further. 
  • When submitting your application, use a personal e-mail address that you can access at least until September 2026.
  • The application form cannot be saved as a draft so collect all your attachments and submit them simultaneously with the application. The application will not be processed further if attachments are missing.
  • Once you have submitted your application, you will no longer be able to change your answers, except for your contact details.

4. Processing of applications

  • Remember to regularly check your email and spam folder.
  • The Admissions Services evaluate your general eligibility and can request you to supplement your application if needed.
  • Note! There are a set quota of admission offers for all Master programmes. Fulfilling the admission requirements does not automatically mean that you will be admitted.

5. Receiving the admission results

  • The admission results will be published within 4 weeks after submitting the application.
  • Please note that during the time period 22.12.2025-6.1.2026 applications will not be processed due to the holiday season which prolongs the publication of results for applications submitted shortly before or during this time period.
  • You will be informed by e-mail simultaneously about the admission results and possible scholarship decision.

6. Accepting the admission offer

  • Accept the admission offer as soon as possible, however no later than 7 days after receiving the admission offer.
  • All admitted students will receive information on how to accept the admission offer with the admission offer e-mail.

7. Register for the academic year

  • Once your admission is final, register for the academic year at the latest on 31 July 2026.
  • First year students must register as present, except if you have legal grounds to register as absent.
  • When registering as present you must also pay the Student Union membership fee.
  • Registration for attendance can be done through the My Studyinfo-service portal or through a personal link once the admission offer is final.
