Hanken JobShadow

International student at JobShadowing
Hanken is looking for organisations to participate as hosts in Hanken JobShadow. As a host, you welcome one or more international students for a day of job shadowing and offer them insight into your workplace and professional environment.

What is Hanken JobShadow?

Hanken JobShadow offers international Hanken students the opportunity to follow you, your team, or selected employees at work for one day. The aim is to give students insight into Finnish working life, workplace culture, and everyday professional situations. The concept is simple and flexible. All host companies receive support materials and practical guidelines to plan the day smoothly.

What does it mean to be a host company?

As a host, your organisation welcomes one student or a small group of 2–3 students for a day at your workplace. The day may include, for example:

  • Participation in internal meetings
  • Time for questions, reflection, and discussions
  • Informal conversations with staff during lunch or coffee breaks
  • Each host organisation can shape the day according to what best fits its operations, schedules, and work culture.

Why participate?

Participating as a host company is a meaningful way to support student development, showcase your organisation to international talent, and strengthen your partnership with Hanken. Your organisation gains the opportunity to:

  • Meet motivated international students from diverse backgrounds
  • Provide valuable insights into Finnish working life
  • Share practical perspectives from your industry and organisation
  • Strengthen your visibility and employer brand among future professionals
  • Bring fresh energy and new viewpoints to your team

Job-shadowing opportunities are a valuable part of the student experience, especially for international students. They offer a chance to observe Finnish workplace culture firsthand, build professional networks, and better understand how business theory is applied in practice. It’s a meaningful step toward integration and career readiness.
