Our faculty regularly contributes to a large array of activities in both the private and public sector as scientific experts. Our contribution is sought after and appreciated. We maintain close business and overall societal connections at all times.
This we do in order to ensure that the research we conduct and the courses we offer are in constant real-life contact and mutual interplay. Only then will they remain relevant to all involved. The department has a high-quality publication record which includes Top-5 journals and FT50 journals in finance and economics. International journals and leading international conferences on a regular basis turn to our faculty when in need of scientific experts for a multitude of assignments.

Given the three academic disciplines within the department, our research interests are wide. Our research is conducted in a wide variety of topics ranging from asset pricing, corporate finance, law and finance, risk management, market microstructure and real estate to industrial economics, competition economics, financial economics, labour economics, behavioural economics and experimental economics. Our statistics group is particulary strong in time-series econometrics, micro econometrics and financial mathematics.
