New student exchange agreements in Portugal and the United Kingdom

Hanken has signed new student exchange agreements with Catholic University of Portugal – Porto, Portugal, and The Queen’s University of Belfast in North Ireland, United Kingdom. You can apply for an exchange at the new partner universities for the spring semester 2027 in the application round that opened today. The deadline for the applications is 15 June 2026.

You will find a brief introduction to the new partners below. Please note that any additional requirements are specified under the university in the Mobility-Online portal. More information is also given by Johanna Lilius, Head of International Relations (johanna.lilius@hanken.fi).

Catholic University of Portugal – Porto (EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB)

Catholic University of Portugal – Porto is an internationally oriented business school with strong connections to the corporate world, offering programs in business, finance, and marketing. The campus is in the beautiful city of Porto, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Location: Porto, Portugal
  • Study level: BSc/MSc
  • Slots: 1 student in the autumn semester, 1 student in the spring semester
  • Language: English
  • Courses: 30 ECTS per semester
  • Semesters: the autumn semester is from September to December (exams in January), the spring semester is from February to May (exams in June)
  • Accommodation: Porto does not have its own student housing but helps to find accommodation on the private market through local partners and housing sites. Read more about accommodation.

The Queen’s University of Belfast

Queen's University Belfast (founded in 1845) is an international university with a long history that today ranks among the top two hundred universities in the world (QS University Rankings 2026). The university is in Belfast and is known for its high academic quality, research, and connections to the business community. 

  • Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
  • Study level: BSc/MSc
  • Slots: 2 students in the autumn semester, 2 students in the spring semester
  • Language: English 
  • Courses: 60 Units (3 modules) per semester = 30 ECTS. One module is equivalent to 20 Units and is equivalent to 10 ECTS. Read more about modules and course selections.
  • Semesters: the autumn semester is from mid-September to December, the spring semester is from mid-January to May/early June
