Hanken launches a new fundraising campaign with large donations

Hanken launches the fundraising campaign Count on Hanken with the aim of strengthening the core business and securing the unique position as an independent business school.

The campaign started at the opening of the Academic Year on September 1 with the announcement of two large donations: Louise and Göran Ehrnrooth Foundation with a donation of 500,000 euros, and Evald and Hilda Nissis Foundation with a donation of 100,000 euros. The campaign is linked to The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra's co-financing campaign which will allocate a total of 67 million euros to the universities in the autumn of 2022 as co-financing for funds raised. This means that the state matches donations to Hanken with up to 2,5 times for each donated euro.

- Hanken's development is strong, and a lot has happened in the recent years, but to continue to develop and ensure the quality of the education and research it is not possible to slow down.  We are very grateful for receiving such large donations and it is fantastic to be able to start the campaign this way, says Rector Karen Spens.

Count on Hanken will run throughout the Academic Year and in support of the campaign Hanken’s Board has appointed a campaign committee consisting of the external members Kristina Pentti-von Walzel (Chair), Henrik Andersin, Kurt Björklund, Maria Didrichsen, Henrik Ehrnrooth, Robert Furuhjelm, Johanna Hamro-Drotz, Roger Holm, Frank Korsström, Rasmus Sinnemaa, and Jannica Fagerholm (Chair of the Board of Hanken), Karen Spens (Rector), and Camilla Wardi (Head of Corporate Relations and Outreach).

The campaign runs until 30.6.2022.
