Hanken School of Economics receives 6,3 million euros in co-financing from the state

The fundraising campaign Count on Hanken ended almost six months ago and the result of the state co-financing has now been published. Hanken School of Economics (Hanken) is the fourth largest recipient in Finland with an amount of 6 273 000 euros. Hanken will thus increase its basic capital by 12,8 million euros.

The total co-financing paid by the state amounts to 67 million euros. In total, all 13 universities collected 70,2 million euros during the exposed campaign period, which ended 30 June this year. This means that the governmental matching scheme lands on approximately one euro for each donated euro.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of the fundraising campaign and we are extremely grateful for the support Hanken received from alumni, partners and friends. With an increased capital we can continue to improve and develop Hanken into a high-class and international business school, and contribute to a competitive future for Finland”, says Rector Ingmar Björkman.

The fundraising campaign Count on Hanken was supported by 692 private individuals, companies and foundations who together donated 6,6 million euros. The collected funds are directed to the university's basic capital from which only the return is used. The goal of the campaign was to strengthen Hanken's unique position as Finland's only independent business school.
