Positive results from student well-being survey

At the end of 2023, a well-being survey was conducted among bachelor's and master's students at Hanken. The survey shows good result.

The survey investigated, for example, whether students were satisfied with the teaching during the autumn semester, how they perceive their stress level and whether they have sufficient social interaction or feel lonely. In addition, students were given the opportunity to express their interest in meeting the study coach. A total of 700 bachelor’s and master’s students responded to the survey which was conducted by Annie Advisor.

The results show an increase in the general well-being of students compared to last year. In addition, the percentage of students who feel the need to meet the Study Coach decreased compared to last year.

– I want to emphasise that, on average, our Hankenstudents are doing well and are satisfied with their studies and their lives. It is important to highlight these bright sparks and celebrate the positive development, especially when we have previously received worrying news about student well-being at the national level. It is clear that we also have a small group that is not doing so well at the moment, and we must continue to support and work with them, says Linda Gerkman, Director for Education and Digital Services

The Study Coach is one of several well-being services offered to students. Hanken continues to offer psychotherapy sessions for degree students in the spring term 2024. In addition, study counselling, guidance on exchange studies, career services, a Study Psychologist and Study Chaplains are available to support students' well-being.

More information and contact details of the different student well-being services can be found on the page Study services.

Since 2018, a well-being working group has been in place to coordinate the work on student well-being and welfare.
