Sofia Stolt
PhD Sofia Stolt is a university lecturer in Swedish and Business Communication and serves as Director of the Centre for Languages and Business Communication.
She is a member of the Matriculation Examination Board and holds a master’s degree in Political Science and Public Management. Her research focuses on assessment, educational leadership, and high‑stakes examinations.
She is currently involved in The Studex project, funded by the Swedish cultural foundation in Finland for the period 2024–2027. The project investigates the matriculation examination in mother tongue and literature, including the design of reading comprehension and writing tests and the responses they produce. It also examines ongoing linguistic change in the Swedish used by young Finland‑Swedes. The project’s findings are of relevance to researchers in language and writing studies, teachers of mother tongue and literature, scholars of language didactics, and members of the general public with an interest in the matriculation examination or the development of Swedish in Finland.
Sofia has been teaching at Hanken since 2013. During the academic year 2025–2026, she worked as a Counsellor of Education at the Finnish National Agency for Education. She holds a Certificate of Qualification for Headmaster and has served as a mentor in Hanken’s Mentorship Pilot Programme. In 2020, she was appointed Excellent Teacher at Hanken. Sofia has received several grants for the development of teaching and has been recognised multiple times for her pedagogical achievements.
