To support an open and merit-based selection process, we have standardized recruitment processes for all levels of recruitment.

How to Apply

All applications are submitted electronically to the recruitment database Laura. In the menu to your left you can find more information and frequenly asked questions about the database.If you have any questions regarding the job opportunitiesor the recruitment process, please contact humanresources@hanken.fi

Application documents

The documents candidates are asked to deliver are specified separately depending on the position and the discipline, so please make sure to check the advertisement for exact detail. In most cases, however, the applicant documents asked for include

Tenure track or other teaching and research positions:

  • Application letter
  • CV
  • Publication list
  • Selected, max. 5 recent publications in PDF form
  • Teaching portfolio (i.e. experience and philosophies of teaching and curriculum development; incl. possible student feedback; track records of pedagogical courses)
  • Research statement/plan including a demonstration of the applicant’s fit with the position, description of current and planned research, publications in the pipeline, and funding obtained for various projects
  • References

Administrative and supporting positions:

  • Application letter
  • CV
  • Other relevant documents

Selection process

Doctoral student (level 1)

Assistant Professor (level 2)

A recruitment group appointed by the Head of Department review all applications and the most qualified are selected for the next stage. The Head of Department then presents the group’s proposal to the Department Council that selects which applicants should be invited to an interview and trial lecture. The recruitment group ranks the candidates based on an overall assessment. The Department Council processes the assessments before proposing to the Rector who should be appointed Assistant Professor.
