Welcome to CERS Guest Seminar featuring Professor Tom Chen's seminar "Sharing Smart Cities: Co-creation for Societal Betterment" taking place in Futurum on Monday, May 26, from 13:00 to 14:15.

This seminar introduces the Sharing Smart Cities project, co-founded with Professor Dr. Dominik Georgi, centring on experience and resource sharing to achieve societal betterment outcomes. Drawing on co-creation and implementation theories, the project addresses wicked problems through a dedicated experience-sharing, AI-enabled digital platform. Professor Chen will outline the concept, discuss the philosophical underpinnings of marketing and service as drivers of societal impact, and invite collaboration across diverse research interests and disciplines, including market shaping, stakeholder engagement, platform business models, economics, and mental health. The project actively seeks collaborators for a Horizon EU or equivalent grant submission.

Tom Chen is a Professor of Marketing and the Director of Studies for MBA programmes at Kent Business School. He also holds an honorary position at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the Australian National University.

Tom has published in journals including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Service Management, Journal of Service Theory and Practice, and Journal of Services Marketing, among others.
