Hanken School of Economics has been granted over 150,000 euros from the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in Ostrobothnia for a research project aimed at developing tourism solutions that are more accessible, sustainable, and community-based. The project's pilot area is the World Heritage site in the Kvarken Archipelago.

Hanken has signed new student exchange agreements with Esade Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain and University of Aberdeen i Aberdeen, United Kingdom. You can apply for an exchange at these new partner universities for autumn semester 2025 as soon as the application round opens mid-december. Deadline for applications is 3 February 2025. The first ever ENGAGE.EU Europitch took place at Hanken School of Economics at the end of November. The event brought together the best of university related start-ups from across Europe to coach them for their participation at Slush and for future international growth.

I slutet av november ordnades det allra första ENGAGE.EU Europitch-evenemanget på Hanken. Evenemanget samlade de bästa europeiska uppstartsföretagen med universitetsanknytning för att coacha dem inför deras deltagande på Slush och för framtida internationell tillväxt.

KvarkenSat is a joint small satellite between the Ostrobothnian provinces and Västerbotten. It is due to be launched into space in just over a year, with drawings by children and young people on board on the satellite. The small satellite is the result of cooperation across the Kvarken. Food security is defined as having sufficient access to food in order to maintain a healthy life. The mainstream approach to ensuring sufficient food and nutrition security is focused on production and consumption. New research shows that food security research and action need to emphasise distribution and retail in addition to agricultural production.

Big questions such as decolonization, the relevance of research to the global south, and the future of work, were on the agenda of the fourth Responsible Organising conference, held at Hanken on the 28th of April.
