Hanken researchers publish article about procurement in UN publication

Procurement is one of the main channels through which humanitarian and development aid is delivered.

Because of this, it is also a vital component to fulfilling the UN Sustainable Development Goals. How can we ensure that the procurement field is equipped to meet the world’s most complex issues?

In the article ‘Innovative solutions for disaster preparedness,’ Hanken researchers Hlekiwe Kachali, Eija Meriläinen and Isabell Storsjö examine the use of public procurement for innovation as a tool for disaster preparedness and supply security.

The article is published in the recent issue of the UNOPS publication the Annual Statistical Report. The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners' peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world.
