Aptitude test based admission
Admission based on an aptitude test is the main method of admission. Apply based on a SAT/ ACT or ITB-Business aptitude test result if you do not have a upper secondary school certificate from Finland.

Out of the 80 seats offered in Bachelor in Business, 60% (48 seats) are reserved for aptitude test based admission. The applicants are divided into two groups based on their educational background:
- A total of 40 seats are reserved for applicants applying based on a school certificate completed outside Finland or a school certificate that cannot be considered in the certificate-based admission, and
- the remaining 8 seats are open for applicants applying with a certificate from Finland or a certificate that can be considered in the certificate-based admission.
- In the 2025 application, the program received 1020 applicants, with the lowest admitted SAT score being 1110.

Only SAT/ ACT and ITB-Business test results that can be verified with the test organiser will be considered. The test result must be valid during the whole application period and taken within the last five (5) years. If you have delivered several aptitude test results by the deadline for attachments, Hanken will consider the test score which gives you the highest score. |

SAT test requirements
- Check the minimum score to be considered above.
- You must have completed all sections in the paper-based test: (1) the Reading Test, (2) the Writing and Language Test, and (3) the Math Test.
- Alternatively, you must have completed all sections in the digital SAT Suite: (1) the Reading and Writing section and (2) the Math section.
- You will be ranked based on your total score in the test. In the case of a tied total score, the applicant with the higher section score from the Mathematics test section will be admitted.
- Notice that you can fulfil the English language requirements by obtaining the minimum points in the language section of the SAT. Check the language requirements here.
Test centres
In Finland you can take the SAT test in Espoo through Suomi-Amerikka Yhdistysten Liitto (SAM). For more information on registering, visit the SAM website samsuomi.fi/en/sat-tests.
Outside Finland you can take the SAT test in many locations. Choose the location closest to you in connection to registering for the test. Register on satsuite.collegeboard.org.
ACT
When ordering your score report from ACT please use Hanken's code 8111.
ACT test requirements
- Check the minimum score to be considered above.
- You must have completed all sections: English, mathematics, reading and science.
- You will be ranked based on your total score in the test. In the case of a tied total score, the applicant with the higher section score from the Mathematics test section will be admitted.
- Notice that you can fulfil the English language requirements by obtaining the minimum points in the language section of the ACT. Check the language requirements here.
Test centres
The ACT test is currently not arranged in Finland. The closest test location is Tallinn, Estonia. More information about the test can be found on the test organisers website: global.act.org.
Outside Finland you can take the ACT test in many locations. Choose the location closest to you in connection to registering for the test. Register on global.act.org.
ITB-Business
When ordering your score report from ITB-Business, choose "send my results to : Hanken School of Economics"
ITB-Business requirements
- Check the minimum score to be considered above.
- You will be ranked based on your total score in the test. In the case of a tied total score, the applicant with the higher section score from the Quantitative Problems test section will be admitted.
- Notice that you cannot fulfil the English language requirements with ITB-Business test. Check the language requirements here.

The ITB-Business test is currently not arranged in Finland, but is possible to take online (proctoring). See more here.
