Hanken School of Economics belongs to the top one percent of business schools in the world. Hanken is a truly unique business school in many ways:

A highly ranked, valued and international business school

Hanken is a highly ranked business school that offers bachelor's, master's and PhD programmes,  that are highly valued both in Finland and internationally. We have more than 15 000 alumni in 70 different countries worldwide.

Widen your horizon with an international exchange

Hanken offers all its bachelor students an exchange semester at one of our more than 100 partner universities in 35 different countries. We consider ourselves truly international and take pride in our students understanding both different cultures and business cultures. During their semester abroad our students get an international aspect on their studies, broaden their views on the world and get a better understanding of themselves.

Complete your bachelor studies with a master´s degree

Hanken's Bachelor in Business programme is an integrated programme, which means that the admission is not only to the bachelor level, but also to the master programme. Should our students wish so, they can continue their master's studies automatically, with no extra actions needed, when they have completed their bachelor's degree.

A boutique-size university where you are not just a number

Hanken is a fairly small business school with around 2700 students (about 20% of which study at Hanken in Vaasa and 80% at Hanken in Helsinki). The manageable size creates a safe environment, in which students get to know each other well and have a strong unifying spirit. Furthermore, our size also enables our teaching personnel to get to know their students, knowing their names and easily inviting them to unofficial discussions about their studies.

Become part of our tight-knit community of alumni

Hanken has a strong alumni community and alumni that are very invested in the business school and its current students. We arrange about ten alumni events a year, with the big homecoming Hankendagen. The strong bonds and networks our students create during their studies last for a lifetime. Many of our alumni also participate in our mentoring programmes for our students each year.

Close ties to the corporate world ensures that you are prepared for life after university

Hanken has a close relationship to the corporate world and has several corporate partners. This allows us to incorporate practical examples into our education and prepare our students for actual work life after finishing their studies. Our corporate partners both do guest lectures and cases for our students and actively present employment options through recruiting events at our university.

The Hanken Bachelor in Business will consist of a variety of elements that have been designed to ensure that our students are prepared for work life after their studies. It will be a three year programme with mandatory basic courses and in-depth studies in the selected major. Graduates of the programme have an option to continue with master's studies without separate applications. Furthermore, we will require English proficiency and language courses will also be a part of the programme. Read more about the programme here
