Commercial Law

Learn more about research and studies in Commercial Law at Hanken.

The teaching of Commercial Law, both in Helsinki and Vaasa, is oriented towards the practical application of this subject in the business arena. Our teaching and research activities are therefore strongly motivated by actual business practices. We offer foundation in business and taxation law to all Hanken degree students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) regardless of their major. Our primary areas of commercial law research include corporate finance and corporate governance, tax law, employment law and intellectual property law. 
 
For students who choose to major in Commercial Law we offer a comprehensive law-specific curriculum covering all relevant areas of Commercial Law on all levels (BSc, Msc and PhD). On master's level students can also choose to specialize in Intellectual Property Law. The master's studies in IP Law are very popular and  unique in Finland.
