Study Spanish as a minor!

Welcome to study Spanish as a minor (25 ECTS)! The Spanish department offers 3 minors:

  1. Minor at Bachelor's level
  2. Minor intensive
  3. Minor at Master's level

The minor may also include courses at Aalto University, in addition to the courses at Hanken. The minor consists of compulsory and elective courses.

For Hanken students

The minor in Spanish (25 ECTS) can include:

  • Spanish courses at Hanken (see course offerings below)
  • Spanish Courses at Aalto University (higher levels)

For more information, please contact the subject coordinator of Spanish, Rita Eloranta. Please note that depending on which minor you choose, there are different requirements for which courses to include. 

 

For non-degree students

It is only possible to study Spanish as a minor if you are a Bachelor's or Master's student at Hanken (Helsinki/Vasa).

 

Minor in Spanish

Minor 1: Bachelor's level

This minor is intended for beginners at Bachelor's level, and consists of compulsory courses and elective courses. The total number of credits must be at least 25. See the course offerings for the minor below.

Minor 2: intensive 

This minor is designed for those who want to advance quickly in their language studies, and consists of both compulsory and elective courses. The total number of credits must be at least 25. The courses for minor 2 are listed below.

Elective courses in Spanish for minor 3:

Elective courses must be agreed upon in advance with the subject coordinator of Spanish, Rita Eloranta. For example, it could be one or more courses at the University of Helsinki or studies completed in a Spanish-speaking country during a semester abroad as an exchange student.
