Marianne and Marcus Wallenbergs Foundation donates SEK 10 million to Hanken

The Swedish foundation Marianne and Marcus Wallenbergs Foundation donates SEK 10 million to Hanken. One-fifth of the donation is included in the Cound on Hanken campaign and is thus included in the government matching.

- The foundation supports high-class research and education and we believe that both research and education at Hanken School of Economics are of high class, says Peter Wallenberg Jr., the foundation's chairman.

- It is with deep gratitude that we receive this donation. It is very important that Hanken receives support outside Finland's borders. This donation also highlights the importance of building bridges and that cooperation with Sweden is very important to Hanken, says rector Karen Spens.

The Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation was founded in 1963 and primarily grants funding for projects related to social sciences.

The fundraising campaign Count on Hanken runs until 30.6.2022 and has with these donations included so far raised approx. 6,4 million euros. The funds raised are used to strengthen Hanken's unique position as Finland's only independent business school. Read more and donate here. Opens in new window
