'Twenty years ago, people were asking how many publications you have; now they ask how many star publications you have. Rather work on a few good ones than many lower-level ones.' - Professor Mika Gabrielsson

On the 7th of Febuary our Professor Mika Gabrielsson shared insights into the publishing process, emphasizing high-impact journals and using a case published at the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science as an example.

Here are some words of wisdom:

  • Match the message of your article with the target audience of the journal.
  • Strive to be the first with your research idea.
  • Network and interact by actively participating in leading conferences within your field.
  • Incorporate the latest theories relevant to your topic.
  • Manage your time effectively; review your research project at least every three months.
  • Pay careful attention to preparing the manuscript.
  • Consider collecting longitudinal data
  • Invest in language checks each time you revise.
  • Take reviewers' comments seriously and use them to improve your work.
  • Explore special issues related to your topic for potential publication opportunities
