PhD (Econ.) Jennie Sumelius has been appointed Professor of Management and Organisation at Hanken School of Economics. Professor Sumelius has a long background at Hanken, both as a student and as a colleague in various positions.

Hanken’s master level students now have the opportunity to apply for a two-week summer course "Business and Innovation in China" in Shanghai, organized by the Nordic Centre at Fudan University, one of China's top academic institutions. The course takes place during June 30 – July 14, 2023 and is estimated to equal 5 ECTS.

Hanken School of Economics (Hanken) has been granted EUR 377 000 through EU funding to focus on the resilience of freight transport networks in Europe.
“Our transport networks have never been so disruptive as they are today. We want to make the networks more resilient and more sustainable for the future”, says assistant professor Sarah Schiffling at Hanken's HUMLOG Institute.

Academics in management and organization studies today have been driven into focusing predominantly on building a CV and developing networks, securing funding and producing articles published in high-ranked journals, all of which supports the university’s competitive position in global rankings. As a result, we see academics who neglect their own life in terms of material, emotional or familial sustenance, and social relations. Instead, they devote all their time to precarious work.

In the most recent alumni survey, nearly every respondent stated that they have a positive attitude towards their alma mater, and that they are proud to be associated with Hanken. "This is wonderful news for Hanken and we are very pleased to hear that Hanken’s alumni feel that we care about them," says Camilla Wardi, Head of Corporate Relations and Outreach.
