GPA Requirement

GPA (Grade Point Average)

 

Group A

Applicants applying with a qualifying degree obtained in an EU/EEA country, need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • The GPA in the qualifying degree needs to be at least a Grade B (US grading scale), GOOD or equivalent or higher. You can check if your GPA meets the requirements by using the WES World Education Systems online grading scale conversion tool. If there is not an conversion table for your country, Hanken will convert your GPA on a case to case basis.
  • You need to calculate and report in the online application your GPA using the grading scale referred to in your Diploma Supplement. Electronic copies of the official transcript of records proving the GPA need to be submitted with the online application. If the applicant does not submit an official certificate where the GPA is clearly stated with their application, Hanken will verify that the GPA calculated by the applicant is correct. Hanken reserves the right to decide whether the applicant fulfills the GPA requirement or not.
  • Applicants who have not yet graduated at the time of applying, are required to calculate the GPA for the qualifying degree for the courses which are included in the transcript of records submitted with the application and, if possible, submit an official certificate where the GPA in question is clearly stated.

 

Applicants with a qualifying degree from an EU/EEA country need to have a GPA of at least GOOD or equivalent.

The specific minimum GPA requirement is:

70-79              (the scale used by Hanken 50-100)
3                      (Finnish scale of 1-5)
Grade B          (American scale) 

NB! If the GPA of your qualifying degree is not clearly stated on your degree certificate/transcript of records/Diploma Supplement, you need to request an official certificate clearly stating your GPA from the awarding institution. If this is not possible, your are asked to calculate your GPA in the online application form. Hanken reserves the right to calculate your GPA and interpret the result accordingly.

If the GPA score in your qualifying degree does not meet the set requirements, you need take either a GMAT or GRE test and obtain the minimum test score requirement. For more information about GMAT / GRE, please click here.

Grupp B

Applicants applying with a qualifying degree obtained in a non-EU/EEA country, need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Prove your eligibility by submitting a valid and verifiable GMAT / GRE score. For more information about GMAT / GRE, please click here.

Applicants with a qualifying degree obtained at one of the partner universities of Hanken, and who meet the GPA minimum score, are exempt from the GMAT / GRE requirement.

NB: The UK belongs to Group B
