- The Board of Hanken School of Economics appoints the rector for a maximum of five years at a time. At its meeting on 2 February 2026, the Board decided that the current Rector, Ingmar Björkman, whose five-year term ends on 31 July 2027, will have his mandate extended by one year until 31 July 2028. According to current retirement regulations, Björkman retires in the autumn of 2028.Publicerad

- Finnish universities’ vice presidents for education agreed on launching a joint development project to develop student admissions. Entrance examinations will be digitalised, their content developed, and their number significantly reduced. The needs for development were identified jointly by the universities particularly as a result of admissions carried out over the course of the national state of emergency. - Due to the pandemic, Hanken has transferred almost all teaching to online teaching since March 2020. According to a recent study, the students at Hanken are satisfied with their online learning environment and progress in their studies, but some clearly feel lonely.

- The corona crisis has affected the Finnish economy, but to a lesser extent than originally feared. During the crisis, business activities have been supported both directly and indirectly, including measures such as the easement of lay-off rules. The Government is currently preparing a third cost support packages for companies. However, the Government should consider shifting the focus from direct support such as cost support to indirect support, such as guarantees by Finnvera.
