Fredrik Teir Awarded This Year’s Ander Wall Scholarship

This year's Anders Wall scholarship was awarded to Hanken student and entrepreneur Fredrik Teir.

This year's Anders Wall scholarship was awarded to Hanken student and entrepreneur Fredrik Teir. Teir has been working in several successful start-ups, imported tea from China, founded and sold a web shop as well as lived in New York, Guatemala, London and Helsinki. During the last four years he has been focusing on forming Greenstep Oy, where he works with marketing and business development, to the world’s greatest accounting firm.

Congratulations Fredrik Teir – how does it feel to be awarded the biggest scholarship that is appointed a Hanken student?
”Unbelievable! The scholarship makes me really happy, and I hope that my story will inspire other people to start their own businesses.”

Teir received a scholarship of 125 000 SEK (approx. 14 800 euro) on 10 March when the award was handed over at the concert house Musikaliska in Stockholm. During the award ceremony, held annually on Anders Wall's birthday, the grantees get the opportunity to present themselves and their future plans.

What does your future plans look like?
”As we have just launched the Receiptcamera service (an Expense Claim Management app) my focus is to make it grow profitably. During the first month we already got 500 customers, and I am confident that we will exponentially grow that number during the first year.”

What will you use the scholarship for?
”I will use the scholarship to develop myself. I see a lot potential in creating modern, automated systems and processes for SME finance. In order to fulfil the potential I need to understand and manage modern technologies whilst financing their development through a positive cash flow. My studies at Hanken have been of great use – now I need to deepen my knowledge in IT and in the management of growing companies,” concludes Teir.
