Guy Ahonen was Professor Emeritus at both Hanken and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. His area of expertise was human resource accounting and knowledge management. Ahonen is best known for studying the economic effects of occupational health. He also launched the concept of human resource accounts in Finland.

Hanken Research Day on 24 May presented examples of how the business school works with issues concerning the impact of business and economy on society. The participants got to take part of top research on responsible investments, equity in educational opportunities, sustainable transports, and green hydrogen.

The Board of Hanken School of Economics has on 25 May 2022 appointed Professor Ingmar Björkman as Hanken’s new rector. Professor Björkman will take office on 1 August 2022 and the term of office is five years.
