Hanken mourns the passing of Professor Emeritus Guy Ahonen

Guy Ahonen was Professor Emeritus at both Hanken and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. His area of expertise was human resource accounting and knowledge management. Ahonen is best known for studying the economic effects of occupational health. He also launched the concept of human resource accounts in Finland.

Professor Emeritus Guy Ahonen passed away at the age of 70 in May 2022 after a short illness. In 1983, he received his doctoral degree at Hanken and became a professor in 1991. Ahonen joined the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health in 2009 where he worked as a research professor until his retirement. Ahonen was an active researcher and published in 2022 still.

-It is with sadness that we received the news that our professor emeritus has passed away. At Hanken, Guy is remembered as a caring colleague who was especially encouraging to young researchers, says Hanken's Rector Karen Spens.
