Hanken doctoral thesis awarded

Minchul Sohn står med sitt pris och blommor i händerna.
Minchul Sohn, who defended his doctoral thesis in humanitarian logistics last June, has been awarded for best doctoral dissertation by The Finnish Association of Logistics and Purchasing LOGY.

Minchul Sohn was awarded for his doctoral thesis Humanitarian logistics preparedness for recurring small-scale disasters based on seasonal climate information, at The Finnish Association of Logistics and Purchasing LOGY’s award ceremony in Helsinki in November.

According to LOGY’s statement, Minchul Sohn’s work will most likely be of great use for those who work in fields that are climate sensitive, once the results are implemented among the actors in the field.

– This award shows the wide interests on the topic of climate risks and logistics preparedness. I hope further collaboration between research and practice can be realized to better understand and improve the process of managing humanitarian logistics preparedness, says Sohn.

Sohn defended his doctoral thesis at Hanken in Helsinki in June 2019. Now he is Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg, Germany.
