My research focuses on corporate financial reporting, the quality and reliability of earnings, and the use of accounting information in various contexts (e.g., corporate governance, auditing, investment decisions).
I have published in several journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, European Accounting Review, European Sport Management Quarterly, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, Accounting and Finance, and Accounting in Europe.
I joined Hanken School of Economics in 2021. My previous appointment was at the Aalto University School of Business, where I taught financial accounting for six years. I have supervised about 200 Master's theses. Currently, I teach Financial Statement Analysis and Valuation (FSAV) and FSAV II courses at Hanken. I received my PhD in 2010 from the University of Oulu. I hold the title of docent in accounting (University of Oulu, 2024).
