Yanqing Lin
Yanqing Lin, D.Sc. (Econ.), joined Hanken School of Economics as a (Tenure Track) Assistant Professor in Business Analytics within the subject of Information Systems Science, Department of Management & Organization in August 2023. Yanqing defended her doctoral thesis entitled Consumer Responses to Service Robots: From Pre-interaction to Post-interaction in September 2023.
Her passion for teaching finds expression in the realms of business analytics, business intelligence, and management information systems. Yanqing views education as an instruction of transformation and empowerment, and she is dedicated to equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in today's dynamic business landscape.
Yanqing's research is centered on exploring consumer behavioral evolution with data-driven approaches. Her current research interests encompass a wide spectrum of topics, including service innovations building on artificial intelligence, implications of mobile ICT use, innovative digital technologies for value creation, online user behaviors, and digital communities (e.g., social media and travel review platforms).
The fruits of her research endeavors have found expressions across diverse channels of dissemination, including journal articles, conference papers and presentations, and media coverage. Her research has graced the pages of various reputable journals, such as Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Computer in Human Behaviors, Information Processing & Management, Internet Research, and International Journal of Consumer Studies. In addition, her scholarly work has made its mark at prestigious international conferences, such as the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), Hawaii International Conference on System Science (HICSS), and Pacific Asian Conference on Information Systems (PACIS). In recognition of the growing societal concern surrounding the consequences of mobile ICT use, it is noteworthy that four of Yanqing's research outputs have garnered significant media attention.
