The Fulbright Finland Foundation, in collaboration with the Nordic Fulbright Commissions, has launched the application round for the Nordic Youth Grant for the Arctic. This grant offers up to 12 young people aged 18-26 from the Nordic countries a chance to travel to Anchorage, Alaska, in April 2025, to participate in the Arctic Encounter Symposium. Participating in this event allows students to connect with leading experts, network with like-minded peers, and explore innovative solutions for a sustainable future in the Arctic. The aim of these recommendations is to increase the appeal of researcher training and the number of flexible pathways to training, strengthen its relevance to working life and employment opportunities, and speed up graduation.

Hanken conducted a CO2 calculation development project of its 2023 carbon footprint and recalculated the base year 2018 emissions.

From 2025, universities will have nine national entrance exams, which will allow applicants to apply for a wide range of different subjects and universities. At the same time, the timetable for the entrance exams will be relaxed so that those selected by certificate-based admissions will no longer have to prepare for and take the entrance exams.

The European Commission has announced that ENGAGE.EU is to receive a follow-up grant to the amount of € 14.4 million for further elaborating the collaboration among nine European universities. Hanken School of Economics has been involved in the collaboration since May 2022, and now with the renewed funding will become full member of the ENGAGE.EU alliance.

There is still plenty of untapped tourism potential in Ostrobothnia. Hanken School of Economics is thus partnering with the relevant tourism stakeholders to draw up a road map of the various local players’ shared visions of how tourism could be developed in the province.

Hanken’s master level students now have the opportunity to apply for a two-week summer course "Business and Innovation in China" in Shanghai, organized by the Nordic Centre at Fudan University, one of China's top academic institutions.
