Two new Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) will be going live this spring on the social learning platform Future Learn, with millions of users around the world. The courses are open for anyone and everyone around the world.

The first MOOC ‘Introduction to Humanitarian Logistics’, launches on January 20th. The course has been developed by Humanitarian Logistics (HUMLOG) institute at Hanken and the lead educators are Gyöngyi Kovacs, Erkko Professor in Humanitarian Logistics and Diego Vega Bernal, Assistant Professor in Supply Chain.

The second MOOC ‘Organising for the Sustainable Development Goals’, launches on February 17th. This is a 7-week course where participants can learn about the Sustainable Development Goals and how we can work towards achieving them. The course has been developed by Centre for Corporate Responsibility (CCR) at Hanken in collaboration with three PRME champions schools from different parts of the world. These are  Audencia Business School Opens in new window  in France, Instituto Superior de Administração e Economia (ISAE/FGV) Opens in new window  in Brazil, and La Trobe Business School Opens in new window  in Australia. The lead educators are Martin Fougère, Associate Professor in Management and Organisation, Nikodemus Solitander, Director of CCR and Maria Sandberg, Doctoral researcher at CCR.

‘’Hanken has over the last 10 years been actively integrating sustainability and responsibility across research, education, and partnerships. A lot of emphasis has also been placed on active dissemination of knowledge and making education accessible. Both these MOOCs further our societal impact’’, says Rector Karen Spens.

Hanken now offers three MOOCs, the first MOOC ‘Principles of Service Management’ went live in October 2018.

In both these new courses, participants will be engaged through short lectures, articles, discussions and tests, with all course material adapted for use on both mobile devices and computers. The courses are free to enrol, but participants need to pay to receive a certificate of achievement and access to the course as long as the course remains on Future Learn.

Enrolment for the courses is now open here for Humanitarian Logistics MOOC and here for Sustainable Development Goals MOOC.
