Business Lead interns at Hanken

Qingbo Xu from China and Shekhar Acharya from Nepal are at Hanken for a two-month internship to cap off the integration programme Business Lead.

Qingbo has a doctoral degree in Gender Studies from the University of Helsinki and works at the Hanken library with e.g. Haris, the teaching at the library, customer service, and collection development.

“The Business Lead programme is very well-organized and everything has worked well,” says Qingbo. “I feel at ease at the library, which I chose because I’ve also studied the same thing earlier,” Qingbo continues.

Shekhar has a master’s degree from University of Vaasa and like Qingbo he has also been living in Finland for a long time already. He’s working on a development plan for Hanken’s international student recruitment and analyzing the various driving factors for international student mobility in Finland and specifically to Hanken.

"I’m happy about both the course and the internship at Hanken. As I did my master’s degree in Finland as well, I already feel quite at home here", says Shekhar.

Hanken & SSE Executive Education reruns the integration programme Business Lead in collaboration with corporate partners. The participants are educated refugees or other non-European immigrants in Finland. Business Lead is one of the most successful integration programmes in Europe. The pilot of the program in 2016 was successful as 40 % of programme participants either found a place to work or study immediately after the programme.
