Christian Johansson

As a Lecturer in Statistics, my main responsibilities include teaching basic and intermediate courses in mathematics and statistics. I regularly teach Introduction to Mathematics for Economists (Ekonomisk matematik), Statistical Analysis (Statistisk analys), and Econometrics (Ekonometri). In recent years, I have expanded my teaching portfolio to include data analytics and machine learning through the course Machine Learning in Finance.

I have worked at Hanken for more than 25 years, gaining extensive experience in both teaching and research. Alongside my academic work, I have collaborated with several companies on projects involving credit scoring, predictive modelling, and data-driven decision support, bringing practical insights into the classroom. I actively participate in pedagogical training and have been recognized with multiple awards for teaching excellence.

Beyond my interest in statistical methods and data analytics, I am particularly passionate about teaching statistics to non-statisticians, addressing the pedagogical challenges of quantitative courses, and developing online teaching materials and digital learning environments. These interests guide my ongoing efforts to enhance student learning and promote effective, engaging statistics education.
