Caroline Sundgren

Caroline Sundgren is postdoctoral researcher at the department of Management and Organization at Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki. I defended my PhD dissertation entitled “Supply chain structures promoting development of sustainable supply chains: the case of surplus food recovery” from the subject of Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility at Hanken. The dissertation focused on sustainable supply chain management, food waste redistribution and energy efficiency in logistics.

My work has been published in Journal of Cleaner Production and the International Journal of Logistics Management. My aim is to produce knowledge that can help solving societal challenges, such as climate change. I have, for example, studied inter-organizational relationships among business actors and NGOs, and mission-oriented innovation policy for sustainability. I have a particular interest towards sustainability transitions, such as, the circular economy.
