"The importance of profit in company law"
Guest lecture by Professor Rolf Skog, University of Gothenburg

In the field of company law there are some issues that never seem to get resolved. They resurface in legal and sometimes even the public debate now and again, but do not find an acceptable solution. One of these questions is in whose interest the limited liability company operates. The answer for most people is obvious: A company operates in the interests of its owners, its shareholders. For others, it is not a given. From time to time and most recently in the lively debate on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) there are those who claim that companies should be operated in the interests not only of shareholders but others stakeholders as well. This lecture will show why the latter view is wrong.

The event is open for all interested.
