Carola Maria Wide is a University Teacher in English at Hanken. Her teaching focuses on communication in global business contexts, including courses in Business Communication in English, Academic Writing, Narrative Business Presentations, Fictions of Business, and Intercultural Communication. She coordinates the virtual exchange course Intercultural Communication-COIL, which includes the ENGAGE.EU COIL: Bridging Borders, a collaborative course module developed with the University of Mannheim, Blanquerna Ramon Llull University, and UT Capitole.
Her research interests center on intercultural learning and relationships, and she is currently involved in two ENGAGE.EU projects: COIL Bridging Borders and ENGAGE Culture!, both aimed at fostering intercultural competence and collaborative learning across European universities.
Carola also goes by Red Scholar, a name inspired by her PhD research on the feminine in contemporary visual and written Little Red Riding Hood narratives, which explored storytelling as a lens for understanding communication and culture. You can learn more about Carola on her homepage.
Her recent publications include "Grandmas do worse:" The Kristevan feminine in contemporary versions of Little Red Riding Hood (2023), Wooing werewolves: Girls' genius, feminine and initiation in Angela Carter's and Märta Tikkanen's versions of Little Red Riding Hood (2024).
