Eva Liljeblom is Professor in Finance at the department of Finance and Economics, Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki. Eva Liljeblom has also been part of the faculty at Stockholm School of Economics, visiting professor at Lund University, and Rector of Hanken School of Economics. She has been actively engaged as a board member/ chairman of the board in listed and unlisted companies in Finland and abroad, including e.g. Sonera/TeliaSonera, Metso, Stockmann, Veikkaus, Leonia Bank, Municipality Finance, Catella Property, Mutual Insurance Company Fennia, pension and other funds such as the Government Guarantee Fund in Finland during the banking crisis, the Strategy Council of the Norwegian State Pension Fund - Global, the investment committee of the Government Pension Fund in Finland, the Pension Fund of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Finland, and the Finnish Nuclear Waste Management Fund. She has also e.g. been member of the Council of Competition, and the Finnish Council for Regulatory Impact Analysis (under the Prime Minister's Office).
Liljeblom's research covers mostly topics in corporate finance, with focus on payout policy, corporate governance, and also a bit on managerial compensation and mergers and acquisitions. Liljeblom is honorary doctor at the University of Vaasa, Lund University (LUSEM schools of business), and the University of Oulu.
