I am an Associate Professor of Accounting (with tenure) at Hanken School of Economics. In my doctoral dissertation, “Essays on the role of social networks and social capital in accounting and finance,” I investigated how social capital (civic norms and density of social networks within a community) affects accounting conservatism and board gender diversity, and the role of social networks in explaining the value relevance of insider trading.
My research focuses on financial statement analysis, audit quality, and social and environmental responsibility. My work has been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Financial Stability, Corporate Governance: An International Review, The Financial Review, Accounting Forum, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Advances in Accounting, and Nordic Journal of Business.
I have held visiting scholar positions with the Weatherhead Center at Harvard University (Fall 2023) and the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin (Spring 2024).
