Larissa Becker is an Assistant Professor in Marketing at Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki, Finland. Previously, she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in Marketing at Tampere University and as a doctoral candidate in Marketing at Turku School of Economics. Before coming to Finland, she got her master’s degree at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and held academic positions at IMED in Brazil.
Larissa is interested in service research mainly from a customer’s perspective, and in consumer transformation. Her research interests and ongoing projects revolve around the themes of compulsive consumption and customer experience (e.g., B2B customer experience, the interplay of touchpoints, customer journey segmentation). She is interested in supervising theses about the topics of compulsive consumption, harmful consumption practices, and customer experience, among others.
She has received important awards for her research such as the Mary Jo Bitner Rising Star in Services, 2021 SERVSIG Best Dissertation Award, and the Best Paper Award at QUIS16. Her research has been published in international journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Service Management. One of her articles (Becker & Jaakkola, 2020) is a highly cited paper in the top 1% of the academic field of Business and Economics according to Web of Science. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Business Research and part of the advisory review board of the Journal of Service Management.
