The DigCBA project contributes to the responsible use of digital cash-based assistance (CBA) in refugee crisis to support policy makers with the selection and use of the most suitable digital technologies (e.g., mobile money, blockchain) for delivering CBA to refugees. The project consists of an interdisciplinary team of humanitarian operations researchers with the focus on ICT, supply chain management, information systems and organizations studies.

Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Research Institute är ett gemensamt kunskapscenter för Hanken och Försvarshögskolan. Det globala centret är en samlingspunkt för forskare inom humanitär logistik.

This exclusive collaboration invites one company each year to work closely with advanced marketing students and faculty on a real-world business challenge related to service-driven strategy.

Hanken's mentorship programme continues to attract a large number of applications. Over the past year, a record number of pairs, 89 in total, have had regular meetings both in Helsinki and Vaasa. Mentors Millie Ahlskog and Stephanie Bardy, who were previously a mentor/mentee pair, share their experiences and explain why they highly recommend applying to the programme.

This project examines how hunting clubs and parties function as sellers of game meat, identifying obstacles to meat sales and exploring how game meat is priced. Another aim is to investigate the key drivers of sales and how clubs and groups wish to develop their activities.

CERS is a leading research and knowledge centre that focuses on research in service and relationship marketing.

The Summer Schools in Humanitarian Operations Management (SOMA) was hosted from December 9th to December 13th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with a second part hosted from June 16th to June 20th of 2025 in Helsinki, Finland. This PhD and Masters level intensive course will dive into the operations surrounding humanitarian operations and disaster assistance with instruction from globally recognized leaders in the humanitarian operations research field. The summer school also serves as a forum for operations management students from all over the world to exchange research, concepts, and develop internetional networks.

A record number of almost 150 people applied to the 2023 Hanken mentorship programme. Mentor Yrsa Landsdorff and mentee Wilma Leskinen are two of them. The mentorship programme has given Landsdorff valuable insights about the younger generation, and Leskinen has successfully achieved the goal she set herself at the start of the year.

The outcome of the project will be a review and analysis report and recommendations that help the Swedish Red Cross to define the role of logistics within the organization.

The WREC Project seeks to reduce the adverse environmental consequences of humanitarian logistics through awareness, practical guidance, and real-time environmental expertise. The project is coordinated by the Global Logistics Cluster and supported by a coalition of humanitarian organizations.

All Hanken graduates represent the school and are thus ambassadors. Hanken is very proud and grateful for all the role models that exist around the school and welcomes collaboration with alumni. Within Hanken there is also a group of alumni who are involved in the development of Hanken’s core operation and are thereby appointed Hanken Ambassadors. The Hanken Ambassadors contribute greatly to the development of Hanken as an international business school with close ties to the business community.

Alla som tagit en examen från Hanken representerar Hanken och är på så vis ambassadörer. Hanken är mycket stolt och tacksam för alla fina förebilder som finns runt högskolan och välkomnar samverkan med alumnerna. Inom Hankens verksamhet finns även en grupp alumner som engagerar sig extra mycket i högskolans utveckling, de utses därigenom till Hankenambassadörer.
