SDG week: Sustainable Communities: Working Together Across Perspectives
This session will begin with a short introduction to core terminology needed for understanding diversity, followed by a collaborative circle discussion where participants can share experiences and insights from academia and beyond. The aim is not to lecture, but to create space for genuine, thought-provoking exchange and connection.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how to:
- Better understand your colleagues — the different backgrounds and life situations they find themselves in, and how these can impact their work.
- Become more aware of your own lens — how your life experiences influence the way you see and interact with the world.
- Find constructive, flexible solutions — especially when needs and perspectives sometimes conflict.
"I’ve had the privilege of joining one of Fon’s sessions before — an open, honest conversation where we explored challenging topics in a safe and respectful space. We sat together in a circle, shared experiences, and spoke openly. It was engaging enough to keep you leaning in, yet comfortable enough that no one felt put on the spot. I can wholeheartedly say that Fon’s approach is something special — and the more voices we have in the room, the richer the experience will be." -Andreas Skarpman, Amanuensis
