During this edition of Hanken Insights, we will discuss how sustainability, regulation, and geopolitics shape the investment landscape in a changing world. The event is hosted by the Department of Accounting and Commercial law as a part of Hanken's SDG week. The event will be held in English and is free of charge but requires registration in advance.
Hanken School of Economics will host the art exhibition Moving Ecologies by Globe Art Point for a month. The exhibition will be displayed in Hanken's main building in Helsinki and forms part of Hanken's annual SDG Week, which focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of SDG Week, this breakfast seminar will shed light on the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive (EmpCo) and its implications for sustainability communication and claims directed at consumers. The seminar will feature a keynote by Professor of Practice Laura Ihanainen, followed by an expert panel with company representatives, offering insights into how businesses are preparing for and implementing the EmpCo Directive’s requirements. A light breakfast is served from 8.30 a.m., followed by the seminar from 9.00 to 10.15 a.m.
Stand-up comedian Karim Aldulaimi draws on life between two cultures to make sharp outsider observations through humour. A panel of activists and researchers confronts the role academia plays in sustaining colonialism and Western knowledge hegemony - from gatekeeping to Nordic denial on race. Together, we ask what must universities do to confront racism?
The event also serves as a get-together for CR Module and Diploma Programme students.
