The research project, led by Associate Professor Tapani Rinta-Kahila at Hanken School of Economics, investigates why artificial intelligence (AI) systems used by governments sometimes fail, causing harm to citizens and triggering legal challenges, and how such risks can be recognised and prevented.

The interest in business studies continues to be strong in Finland. In this spring’s second joint application round, Hanken School of Economics received a total of 3,179 applications (2025: 3,279, 2024: 2,889). The master's programme received a total of 426 applications from 268 applicants (2025: 257), which was the highest number of individual applicants ever.
