Doctoral courses arranged by Hanken's collaboration partners

Hanken's doctoral researchers can participate in doctoral courses arranged by Finnish Doctoral Programmes and international programmes and by Hanken's other collaboration partners and networks.

Many of the collaboration partners also offer an opportunity to spend a period of time as a visiting researcher. Some programmes also include the possibility for funding. Doctoral researchers who would see this as an option can check the Hanken web for information about studies abroad and funding.

Universities in Finland
In addition, you may be interested in doctoral courses, dissertations etc. at other universities in Finland (note that Finnish universities may charge external researchers for their participation)

Språkalliansen
Språkalliansen is a cooperation network consisting of the universities in the Helsinki region offering education in Swedish. Språkalliansen organises tailor made language courses for the Swedish speaking researchers at the collaborating universities and Språkalliansen among other offers courses in scientific writing in Swedish. Språkalliansen also coordinates the development of the language education at the universities.

 

International doctoral programmes

Nord-IB
Nord-IB (The Nordic Research School in International Business) is a joint venture program among business schools in the Nordic countries. The program (which corresponds to approximately 6 months of studies) stretches over a two-year period. The rest of the doctoral education, including the dissertation, will be handled by the researcher's own institution. For more information please visit Nord-IB web page.

 

Other international collaboration partners and networks

EIASM
EIASM (The European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management) is a European network for research and doctoral studies. Hanken is a member of EIASM. Hanken is a member of EIASM and our doctoral researchers and researchers may therefore participate in EIASM activities to a reduced price. Visit EIASM´s web site regularly or subscribe to their e-mail list for information on doctoral courses, seminars and workshops ("Calendar of Activities"). On the web you also find information on annual conferences, workshops, tutorials and summer schools for doctoral researchers. EIASM's web site also provides access to the EDEN web sites (EIASM's Doctoral Education Network) as well as to EDAMBA (more information below). 

EDAMBA
EDAMBA (European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration) offers courser and seminars. Please note that applications for the EDAMBA Research Summer Academy are sent directly from the researcher's university. Therefore no applications are to be sent directly to EDAMBA. Please contact the Scholarship Liaison Officer at the Centre for research and international affairs in case you are interested in participating.

NordForsk
NordForsk (Nordic Research Board) funds research co-operation and researcher training and mobility in the Nordic region. Please see the web page for information on for example doctoral courses where Nordic doctoral researchers may participate. If accepted to the course, a major part of the course and/or travel expenses are usually covered by the course organiser.

Nordic Centre Fudan University
The Nordic Centre is a platform for initiating and developing research and education activities, conferences and courses for Nordic and Chinese doctoral researchers and scholars. Today more than 20 universities from Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark are members. Fudan University in Shanghai is the Chinese member.

Nordic Finance Network (NFN)
Nordic Finance Network (NFN) is a network for research and doctoral training in finance. The main objective of NFN is to promote cooperation in doctoral education. NFN is an initiative of two national Doctoral Programs in Finance and four Finance Departments in the Nordic countries. The Network consists of universities in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

Nordic Network in Economics (NNE)
Nordic Network in Economics complements the existing national doctoral programmes by providing instruments to increase the quality and diversity of research and research training via co-operation among the participating countries. NNE actively promotes the mobility of and co-operation between Nordic and Estonian doctoral researchers and scholars.

Nordic Academy of Management (NFF)
The purpose of the Nordic Academy of Management (Nordiska Företagsekonomiska Föreningen / NFF) is to advance research, education and practice in the field of business administration in the Nordic countries i.e. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Hanken is a member of NFF, thus our doctoral researchers can apply to courses offered by NFF.
