InnoVäxthus is a project aimed at implementing demand-driven production in Ostrobothnia's greenhouse complex. The project is led by Senior Scientist Irene Vänninen from the Natural Resources Institute of Finland, and it started in 2016.

The Department focuses on the two major subjects of Accounting and Commercial law. These subjects are integrated and linked together in order to offer the student a more holistic view of business, law and commercial practice. The Department's courses afford students the opportunity to study an exciting range of related topics. Research and teaching at the Department are  aimed towards giving students a good theoretical foundation, in addition to the acquisition of practical and relevant skills required in the marketplace.
