Open University – an opportunity for everybody

Our courses are open to everybody, and there are no formal requirements for prior degrees. Some courses however require previous knowledge of the subject.

The course offering consists primarily of courses from the university's regular curriculum, with quota places reserved for open university students. In addition, the Open University organizes separate instruction for a few courses within the framework of the Swedish Fast Track. All courses offered through the Open University can be included in degree studies at Hanken.

Basic level courses are suited for beginners. Courses on intermediate level usually require some previous studies within the subject, for example the basic course. Courses on the advanced level require substantial previous studies within the subject, often equivalent to a Bachelor´s degree. The course level and prerequisites can be found in the course descrition. 

If you have a Bachelor´s degree, but have not studied economic sciences, open university studies can give you the necessary competences to apply to Master’s degree studies. 

You can also apply to the Swedish Bachelor’s degree programme based on open university studies.
