The Opin.fi website brings together open studies from universities and universities of applied sciences across Finland – all in one place. Hanken’s courses are now also included, for anyone looking to strengthen their skills and knowledge.

The service is open to everyone who wants to learn something new, regardless of where they are in life. Perhaps you need new skills for working life, want to deepen a personal interest, or are considering a career change. The platform offers studies in various fields and formats.

In addition to accessing the broad range of courses offered by different higher education institutions in one place, you can also compare the studies with one another. You can filter the selection based on your preferences – for example, whether you want to study remotely or on campus, at your own pace or according to a set schedule.

Making business and economic skills accessible to all

The ten themes featured on the platform bring together studies on current topics, from sustainable development and new technologies to a changing working life. Opin.fi also gives you access to podcasts and webinars.

“At Hanken, we want to make business and economic skills accessible to everyone who wishes to develop their knowledge and meet the challenges of the future. Through the Open University’s courses on Opin.fi, we offer studies that strengthen the understanding of the economy in a changing society and working life – with a focus on sustainability, analytical skills and experience-based learning,” says Johanna Lindqvist, manager of the Open University at Hanken.

Courses available in English, Finnish and Swedish

The website lets you bookmark study opportunities to explore later. You can enrol for courses in each institution’s own system.

Opin.fi has been developed in collaboration with Finnish higher education institutions and future users of the service. Development is ongoing and guided by user feedback. The course offering is also continuously updated.

Currently, Opin.fi offers open studies in English, Finnish and Swedish from over 30 Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences – with or without credits, and available as both in-person and online learning.

Opin.fi was launched in spring 2025. The Digivisio 2030 project is responsible for developing the service together with the higher education institutions, and HigherEd Hub Finland Oy is responsible for its operation.
