Lisi Wahl’s foundation donates 100 000 euro to Hanken

Hanken has received a donation of 100 000 euro from Lisi Wahl’s foundation for study support to its’ ongoing fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS.

With this donation, the foundation wants to support Hanken’s basic capital and the development of a Swedish-speaking business school with high-quality education and research.

According to Lisi Wahl’s foundation for study support it is important that high-quality education in Swedish exists at all levels of education in Finland. With this donation, the foundation wishes to emphasize the importance of this.

- The quality of education and research goes hand in hand with Finland's future well-being and Hanken is recognized to be of high quality in both areas. We also believe that the fundraising campaign combined with the state matching is a positive thing, and delightfully contribute to support the competitive educational activities and stimulating study environment at Hanken, says the foundation’s chairman Edvard Silén and vice chairman Christian Borgström.

- We are very grateful for this donation and appreciate the fact that the foundation supports Hanken's development as a Swedish-speaking business school with high-quality education and research, says Rector Karen Spens.

Lisi Wahl’s foundation for study support donates to youths to receive a quality education and organizations that work with supporting education.

The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS will continue until 30.6.2017 and has, with this donation included, so far raised approximately 10.9 million euro. The aim of the campaign is to secure Hanken’s unique position as Finland’s only independent business school.
